This installation of steel look windows in Oxford demonstrates how the Alitherm Heritage system provides slim, elegant sightlines while remaining sympathetic to the original architecture.

Completed in May 2025, this project involved 18 windows and several sets of Heritage-style aluminium door sets, professionally surveyed and expertly installed.

The homeowners of this contemporary Oxfordshire property wanted to replace their original windows with a slimmer aluminium alternative without losing the character of the house and the style of the original windows fitted with the house was built.

To the front, we manufactured and installed four sets of five-module windows. Each unit features a side-hung casement on either side with fixed panes to the central modules. The design replicates the original layout but with a slimmer frame profile, improved efficiency, and a modern white powder-coated finish.

At first-floor level, the same design was repeated, this time with easy-clean and fire-escape hinges for compliance with Building Regulations. A smaller additional window, also with a single horizontal glazing bar, was fitted to maintain visual balance.

The side elevations and rear of the home were completed with further Heritage-style windows in varying designs, again reflecting the appearance of the originals but in a more contemporary black finish.

All windows feature:

· 25mm horizontal glazing bars for a steel-inspired look

· Trickle ventilators to the head for Part F compliance

· 28mm insulated glass units with safety glass where required

· Colour-matched aluminium cills for a neat installation

Steel Look Heritage Doors

In addition to the numerous steel look windows in this Oxfordshire home, are the heritage aluminium doors to the rear extension. Our Alitherm Heritage aluminium doors are installed, configured as both single and double doors. Each set has glazed toplights above the doors, whilst always maintaining consistent transom sightlines across the elevation.

With standard 34mm transoms, high-security multipoint locking, and matching colour handles and hinges, these doors offer strength, durability, and architectural detail. The use of high-performance safety glass ensures both safety and compliance.

Our steel look doors replicate the proportions and style of traditional metal doors while offering shorter lead times, greater energy efficiency, and a more cost-effective solution. Doors are glazed with toughened safety glass, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill.

Fantastic service from start to finish Tom was great to deal with along with the Survey meeting the lads before they started to double check everything. The fitting team turned up on time today with the delivery also was almost finished for 11 o’clock very impressive., Considering the size of the units and the Power needed to do this job was very difficult and had to be thought out and planned correctly they nailed it, the trimming and silicone’s skills were second to none . Will look forward to using this business again for any window door installation , large profile glass installation.Etc

From the first contact with Tom from the Fenestration Network they were very professional and very responsive.. They had been passed our project idea and I gave approximate sizes for bi-fold doors/windows for our outside terrace…

We wanted to fully enclose it, within 48 hours Tom came back to me with a priced quote which was exceptional…. Full detailed drawings of each view suggesting top openers on one side…. My experience has been first class, I have previously been in the Architectural industry for 12 years manufacturing these type of products and was impressed how this company worked.
