Aluminium windows and doors for a modern extension

One of our recent installations of Aluna bifold doors in Manchester, to a new build extension at the back of a traditional home. Completed in the summer, the installation includes a four-pane bifold, a three-pane bifold, and a combined door and window set. All powder coated in the popular RAL 9005 black matt finish inside and out, with matching black hardware and high performance glass units.

This project forms part of a contemporary brick-built extension to a detached home with a gable roof. The homeowner wanted a glazing solution that would open the living area to the garden while maintaining visual contrast against the brickwork. The chosen black finish achieves that perfectly — bold, modern, and timeless.

At the side elevation, a single entrance door is coupled with windows, some having opening fanlights. This provides a highly accessible entrance with added ventilation. Th remaining two elevations have Aluna bifold doors, at reduced sizes to create folding windows. There is a further bifold door set separating the main house from the extension as well.

The Northwest of England can have some very wet and windy weather, and our client wanted the reassurance of a weathertight bifold and door system. The Aluna doors come with extensive sealing throughout. Every door is operated by a multipoint system, meaning the folding sashes are pulled tight against the outer frame, seals and gaskets.

Expertly-crafted and professionally installed, Aluna bifold doors are now one of the most popular in the UK, because of their outstanding price to quality point. And they come with similar sightlines and performance to the more expensive German systems but at a substantially reduced price and significantly faster lead times.

For our homeowner customer the slim 107mm sightlines provide more glass and less visible frame, with no loss of strength or security. Aluna doors are security tested to the latest standards, come with premium grade aluminium and a Qualicoat-assured colour finish inside and out.

The glass provided throughout is toughened safety glass, having a soft-coat low-emissivity coating, warm edge spacer bars and argon gas fill.

We were originally going to order our patio doors supply only and get our builders to fit them, but after reading some of the advice from Nick at doorandwindowexperts we realised it was too big a risk for such an important and expensive purchase. Fantastic service from start to finish Tom was great to deal with along with the Survey meeting the lads before they started to double check everything. The fitting team turned up on time today with the delivery also was almost finished for 11 o’clock very impressive., Considering the size of the units and the Power needed to do this job was very difficult and had to be thought out and planned correctly they nailed it, the trimming and silicone’s skills were second to none . Will look forward to using this business again for any window door installation , large profile glass installation.Etc
