Heritage Windows in Yorkshire – Doncaster Case Study

This full-house installation of Heritage aluminium windows and doors in Yorkshire demonstrates the versatility and timeless style of the Alitherm Heritage system.

Set within a detached new build home in Doncaster, this project combines industrial-inspired glazing with modern performance and efficiency.

Alitherm Heritage Windows in Doncaster

Another installation where homeowner and client trust the expertise and product quality of the Fenestration Network steel look collection, this time installed in a new build home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. In total, 24 aluminium windows were supplied and installed across the property. Each feature ultra-slim 25mm glazing bars for a classic steel look, combined with side-hung opening lights and fixed panes.

On the front elevation, two large five-module ground floor windows, having side hung vents and fixed panes are paired with smaller single casements at first-floor level. Above the main entrance, a striking feature window provides lots of natural light into the stairwell and upper landing.

The first-floor windows are fitted with fire-escape hinges as standard and colour-matched aluminium cills. Slimline trickle ventilators were also integrated into the head of each frame, ensuring full compliance with Part F of Building Regulations while maintaining the elegant sightlines.

The side elevations of the home continue the theme with horizontally divided windows in a three-module design, balancing light, ventilation and style.

Heritage Bifold Door

Complementing this installation of heritage windows in Yorkshire is what will be a stunning rear elevation, dining and living space. At the rear of the property, a five-panel bifold door forms the centrepiece of the living space. Manufactured from the Visofold 6000 system with the dedicated Heritage sash design, these bifolds are among the top five slimmest bifolds in the UK, with a 94mm mullion sightline.

Unlike alternative bifold door products where glazing bars are simply applied to the glass on a standard folding sliding door, the Visofold 6000 uses a dedicated heritage sash profile. The result is a true replication of classic steel doors, with consistent transoms, equal glass modules, and a stepped detail faithful to period design.

To either side of the bifold door, floor-to-ceiling fixed windows complete the elevation. These ultra-slim windows frame the central door beautifully, maximising light and enhancing the contemporary look at the rear of the home.

Three Alitherm Heritage doors were also installed, matching the window and bifold designs. These come with slim glazing bars, secure multipoint locking, colour-matched handles and hinges, and toughened glass throughout.

We were originally going to order our patio doors supply only and get our builders to fit them, but after reading some of the advice from Nick at doorandwindowexperts we realised it was too big a risk for such an important and expensive purchase. Fantastic service from start to finish Tom was great to deal with along with the Survey meeting the lads before they started to double check everything. The fitting team turned up on time today with the delivery also was almost finished for 11 o’clock very impressive., Considering the size of the units and the Power needed to do this job was very difficult and had to be thought out and planned correctly they nailed it, the trimming and silicone’s skills were second to none . Will look forward to using this business again for any window door installation , large profile glass installation.Etc

From the first contact with Tom from the Fenestration Network they were very professional and very responsive.. They had been passed our project idea and I gave approximate sizes for bi-fold doors/windows for our outside terrace…

We wanted to fully enclose it, within 48 hours Tom came back to me with a priced quote which was exceptional…. Full detailed drawings of each view suggesting top openers on one side…. My experience has been first class, I have previously been in the Architectural industry for 12 years manufacturing these type of products and was impressed how this company worked.

I agreed the price and within 1 week Tom had arranged for a site survey to finalise the dimensions…. The installation team that Tom used for the survey and installation were very good and very keen to do a fantastic job, the 2 guys (Matt & Gary) couldn’t do enough for us.

The end product was a great addition you our property giving us a fantastic room which we can use all year round.

We used The Fenestration Network for the replacement and installation of all our windows and patio doors as part of our renovations.
